SCIENTIST. RESEARCHER. EXPLORER.
“I have two loves in my life: my wife, Elizabeth, and tocotrienols. A love affair with tocotrienol? What do you expect from a researcher and scientist? But this passion led me to my fate: discovery of the amazing antioxidant properties of the annatto, a tropical plant that grows in South America.”
Dr. Barrie Tan is hailed as a trailblazer and the world’s foremost expert on vitamin E. Dr. Tan is credited with discovering a form of vitamin E called tocotrienol in the three major sources – Palm, Rice and Annatto. Described as a scientific pioneer, his mission is simple: improve the everyday health of people’s lives through the rigorous application of DeltaGold® – the first-ever tocopherol-free tocotrienol product extracted from annatto and the most potent form of vitamin E in existence today.
Why Annatto Tocotrienols?
Each day it is becoming increasingly understood that tocotrienols (especially delta-tocotrienols) are the right form of vitamin E. Well in excess of 100 studies and clinical trials have shown the surprising benefits of tocotrienols – without any known side effects. These studies show that tocotrienols, combined with a healthy lifestyle, do incredible things including lowering lipids, reducing inflammation, protecting the liver, promoting bone health, killing cancer cells and even increasing survival rates in cancer patients.
Not all forms of Vitamin E are created equal
As a scientist, I am committed to well-designed research studies and clinical trials, and am driven by data-based conclusions. I also believe that studying plants and their color components for research’s sake is valuable: the scientific enterprise of discovery, understanding how things work, uncovering hidden information, and figuring out novel approaches.
That is why I wrote this book. To share what I have learned over the past 35 years of my research about the right vitamin E and how it helps keep the human body healthy.
